- Melissa Neff, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, board-certified neurofeedback provider endorsed by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA), and a QEEG-Diplomate candidate under the supervision of Mary Tracy, Ph.D.
- Dr. Neff is proud to be Missoula, Montana's only board-certified neurofeedback provider.
- She is an Othmer Method Certified (OMC) provider and trainer and previously taught for EEG Info. She also serves as a BCIA mentor, supporting both her clinical staff and clinicians pursuing board certification in neurofeedback.
- During the first 10 years of her career, Dr. Neff conducted psychological evaluations for children and adults in private practice.
- She has extensive experience in the assessment of ADHD, anxiety, trauma, nonverbal learning disorder, autism, and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
- Dr. Neff was the first guest on the Tilt! Parenting Podcast to discuss Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) as a form of neurodivergence. She has also appeared on the Autism ADHD Podcast and Alive at Learn! Podcast, where she discussed autism, PDA, and neurofeedback.
- She earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors through The University Professors Program at Boston University, followed by both a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Montana.
- Dr. Neff's doctoral dissertation examined intimate partner violence, focusing on how survivors developed strength, resilience, and post-traumatic growth following experiences of abuse.
- Throughout her career, she has worked in community mental health centers and a children's psychiatric hospital, where she developed a strong appreciation for the collaborative treatment team model when working with children, adults, and families.
- Dr. Neff serves as a faculty affiliate professor at the University of Montana, where she has taught graduate-level assessment and therapy courses within the Clinical and School Psychology Ph.D. programs.
- She has consulted with community agencies throughout Montana and across the United States and provides education and professional training on trauma, neurodivergence, autism, and neurofeedback.
- Dr. Neff is recognized for her strengths-based approach, innovative problem-solving, and mind-body perspective on mental health. Her clinical philosophy focuses on helping individuals better understand themselves while identifying and addressing the root causes of complex challenges.
- She collaborates closely with therapists, functional medicine practitioners, and naturopathic providers to support clients in achieving their individual health and wellness goals.
